Yes unfortunately it is. So i guess i will have to make a new video with my new V-8 explorer with its new exhaust and rims that it is going to have. Exhaust has been gong in for the past 2 days now and should be finished up tomorrow. I dont know fo rsure but it might be the first true dual setup on a 02 and up explorer. Man do all i got to say is that is one TIGHHHHHHHT fit over the rear IRS. I mean you dont even realize how tight it is. Well anyways, i think i should be able to make a vid of my new X here within the next little while.

Oh thats good then, hope the exhaust works right. I can make a vid of mine, but it aint a streeter, its basically stock with the mods i put on.

Oh the exhaust will work just fine. It is pretty much like my last true dual exhaust setup on my last truck except i had them install an H pipe on it too to even things out between the two pipes. Better exhaust flow harmonics i guess you would call it.

yeah i think i know what your talking about evening things out. I got a pic of a 429 boss stang, shows the exhaust so yeah i think i know what ya mean there.

How much did dual exhaust cost on your last truck?

Well on my last truck my dual exhaust setup with 2.5 inch mandrel bent true duals with 2 series 40 flowmasters ran me $525. This last setup on my new truck which i just got back about 10 minutes ago cost me $585. But it was alot more complicated to fabricate a true dual 2.5" system for the rear IRS suspension. It was a very very tight fit. And being that it needed more bends to make the tight turns and also i added an H pipe it cost me a little more than the last one. I am happy with it and it does sound very mean with that 4.6 liter engine in it.

thats good, i wanted to get true dual exhaust for the v-6 but that probably wont sound too good.

I have heard some peoples V-6's sounds pretty decent with a dual exhaust setup. as long as you dont go too big you wont lose any power. The only thing is that the 6's tend to sound a little buzzy when they have an aftermarket exhaust on them. But i think as long as it isnt a really loud buzz then it kind of compliments the engine, i think. Ever since i got my 5.0 explorer a few years ago i wont go for anything else other than a V-8 vehicle. Unless i already had 2 V-8 fun vehicles in the garage then i might go for something more civil if i had my own family. But that hasnt happened yet so i will stick with my fun trucks for now and then when it is time i will keep those in the garage more often and drive the minivan or something around i guess. lol. Actually i think if i had to go with a good looking family suv with just a V-6 i would go with that Suzuki XL7. I dont know anything about it but i think it looks really nice for some reason. I could never take any family of mine in my new 03 explorer because i like to race around in it too much when i am in it. But if i know i am not in an intended race vehicle then i wont tear ass around town. lol.

Nice rocket, i know if i run duals it would probably be the 2.5" exhaust. Right now im running a dynomax muffler, a cheapy one ($35CA). It sounds rangy, or as you put it, buzzy. I think that is because its only 2" exhaust right now. Do you think it would help if i had larger exhaust?

Also the Ford Escape might be a good choice.

Well man i would say that dual 2.5" on a V-6 is too big. Imean you are going to kill your torque with that big of a setup. I mean just to put it into perspcetive for you, i have a 4.6 liter V-8 that i plan on swapping a DOHC 4.6 cobra motor and topping it off with a Kb at about 18 psi. And i still will most likely go stay with the 2.5 true dual setup. I mean to each his own, but i think it may be a bit too big for your application. What you might want to do is look for people on here that have the OHV 4.0 engine that have an exhaust on them and see if they got a sound clip or something and then decide from there. I mean i do know alot of things for power and performance and stuff, but my main focus is the V-8. So it might be better to talk to someone who is used to modding the V-6 OHV explorer engine, and has had a dual exhaust setup installed on their truck.

Yeah i guess 2" would be better, but with what i got now, 2.5" would really be better, it almost sounds right now like its restricted.

Hey rocket... Do you know what happened to the videos that 99mounty was hosting for us? I'm forbidden to see them.

Hmm man. To tell you the truth i didnt even notice that they were not working anymore. Oh well. He might have went over bandwidth till the end of the month. Or maybe had to reconfigure something and accidentaly denied access to you for some reason. Either way i think a PM to him asking what is going on would probably help the situation out. Well man take it easy.

And as for the exhaust??? Well it is your own choice. And you know alot more about what your particular vehicle neds than i do benig that you can actually hear it and see the way it runs. Either way you decide, good luck.

Ok guys!!! I got new videos of my new 2003 4.6 liter V-8 explorer with its new exhaust system on at the track. I only wish the camera could pick up the exhaust note. But compared to some of the monsters there my truck was quiet. But it is really not when you hear it sitting next to a street stang. Well if someone could host these videos for me. They are both around 2.0 MB. Thanks. And i will post a link to them once i can get them hosted.

Yeah rocket, i definately think its gettin some restriction, but that could be cause the pipes are 9 years old :D. I dont think i can do anything soon, gotta fix 4x4 and get a new comp goin. thanks for the good luck though :).

an im downloading your one video right now, hope its good :D

Thanks guys
