I own two Explorers, a 1998 and a 1999. One has 130K miles on it, and the other 150K. I have had to replace the rear windshield wiper motor on both. Does anyone know what causes these motors to go "bad"? Is it exposure to the elements, or are they just a poor design? Is there a "heavy-duty" motor available which lasts longer? Any help would be appreciated.
