Explorer sport 0-60 problem

well I guess you know they weren't flogging it and going WOT during their quality test checks then lol

I don't really have any clue about what they were doing other then racking up miles on what was to be my new vehicle...

Unfortunatly this post is completly inaccurate at every level. The quality by nearly every test has now exceeded Toyota and is at the top if not the top of almost every car/truck line. Yes do cars have problems, yes, some more then others. We all want everything to be perfect all the time but its just not. Quality in todays Ford is much much much different then it has been in the past. They have worked hard to get there and posts like this make no sense. Im sorry if you had a bad experience, but sell yours and buy something else then. You have a 2.0L Eco? If thats true I know why you hate it, enough said. Way to much truck for a 4cc. Common sense will tell you that.
I don't think so ....... I have the XLT and the quality and craftsmanship are :thumbdwn: That's what this forum is here for ......... Glad you are happy with yours ........ I can't say the same here!

so you have never messed up even a little bit at your job, ever???

Yeah, why hold anyone responsible for anything. We only paid $50k plus for these... Why should we expect worm clamps to be tightened properly? What was I thinking???

Gentlemen, please stick to the topic of the thread. If you wish to continue throwing zingers back and forth, please do so using another medium.
Thank you.

Thank you.

I took the advice of others and tightened all of my hose clamps. One was so loose it spun around. Thank you for the advice

I guess that goes for the compliments also then?

Happened to me tonight on mile 950 of a 1000 mile round trip this week. Fortunately I was able to limp home and put it on the ramps to see the problem. Annoying is an understatement. Did any of you bring them back to the dealer? I've read of some other vehicles (powerstrokes mostly) having the lines replaced because the grooves wear once they slip and will keep doing so until they're replaced.

BTW, mine blew off when I let off the accelerator as I was passing someone at 3/4-full throttle. Freaked me out a little when I heard it! I've got 16k miles on it and had never heard any blowoff before.

WHAT ?!?

Your dealer sounds like he got a scholarship at the BS school :) Not true if it's put on correctly and there are no underlying issues...

sounds like some have a Monday morning car where someone just didn't tighten the cac hose clamp :)
won't hurt others to test their connections periodically...

like stated. not a biggee unless the cac tube dumps the hot exhaust onto something that doesn't like heat :)

Actually he was an instructor at the BS school:D

There is a boost surge as you let off and the bypass valves then open to release that surge, it would have come off soon either under throttle or while letting off, really just a roll of the dice.

I have had two hoses blow off early on, but after reseating a few of them and tightening them down i've been gtg for ~6 months. Hopefully it's just crappy work at the plant at this point and not a design issue.

i'm assuming you've had a bad experience? Judging by your digs at ford in nearly every post you make. I hope you have purchased something else, and eventually find its forum.

+100

Hi Hpnewby,

Are you still experiencing this concern or has it been resolved? Let me know if you need my assistance and I'll be happy to check out some options.

Crystal

Had some time today so I figured out I check these hoses and see what everyone was talking about. Sure enough, 3 lose clamps were lose. Tightened them done securely now. Ill have to find some more later.

Here's a pic of one going to the turbo that was not fully on.
Those with turbos better check your hoses.
