Ok. I wont go into any details as to how this happened, but i now have a bad water leak. I cant explain it, but ill try. Its a 95 Sport

Radiator will hold water to a certain point, resovoir will hold water. When you try to fill the radiator up, it slowly leaks out and water runs off behind the k-frame. I know its on the engine somewhere and not the k-frame, but water is running off the back of the engine. The vehicle will start and run fine, it just leaks water. When i fill the radiator up as far as it will hold, i blowed by mouth into the radiator, and water literally poured out from under the thermostat housing/ lower intake. I have no antifreeze in the oil as far as i know. I cant figure out if its the thermostat housing leaking or lower intake. As yall may know, there is a BIG price difference between these two repairs.

When you try to fill the radiator, itll go to the top, and never hold... its leaks somewhere else BESIDES the thermostat housing... but it only leaks when you blow into the radiator or start the vehicle. The vehicle also will not blow out any heat, which means no water is getting to the heater core.

Anyone had this problem? We can not tell if water is being forced out from the top of the water pump, the front of the lower intake, or bottom of the thermostat housing... but it IS comming out of that general area... and somewhere on the back of the engine... or its leaking someway to where it falls onto the rear of the k-frame/ rear of the front diff housing.

VERY bad description, but its the best i can do.

With Pressure applied to the coolant system, it leaks from the lower thermostat, front lower intake, top of water pump.

No pressure on the coolant system, its off the back of the engine.

Im thinking its the lower intake gasket... or a composition of all 3. I have a gasket kit from advanced auto... so i should have all 3 gaskets. I just want to know what you guys think?

Have you checked all the hoses and thermostat?

On my v8 explorer, a very small hose that ran from the water pump to something else cant remember was broken and would slowly leak at first but then it started leaking like crazy and would not hold water, it looked as if the water pump had broken in pieces replaced hose($3)
It could also be the thermostat itself, i think on your 4.0 it has a rubber gasket that goes all around the thermostat i had that gasket go bad on a 96 3.8 mustang and shot coolant all over. replaced thermostat and gasket ($8)

Hope this helps.

The K Frame is where your A frames are attatched. I dont think its a hose, i believe its the lower intake. Its in the garage now...

check the thermostat housing, thermostat, and all the hoses, if you dont find anything THEN dig deeper... might be something easy!
