Extend the battery cables about a foot longer

nobody has a scematic for my 93 that shows the battery cables and where all of them go???????????:D

hey that schematic may exist, but there is not much to it.

All you gotta do is jack up the truck, possibly remove the pass front wheel, support it with a jack stand and get under there and look at the frame right near the oil filter.
You will see where the ground cable connects to the frame.
UNbolt that, pull the cable out by the battery,

You may have to cut some conduit to find the path of the + cables, but thats no big deal.

You can do the solder and replace method, but battery cables are a problem on early Explorer's. They get old.
So if you need to extend them your best bet is to kill 2 birds, 1 stone, and replace with longer.

If you can fab a cold air intake with PCV you are fully capable of replacing the cables, no problem!!!

I changed the battery cables on my 94 xlt a few months ago when I changed my alternator it is pretty simple. The wires just go down by the battery box and down by the engine block the ground wire grounds to the engine block and the frame, the hot wire then continues down the engine block through a metal strap deal on the side of the block and down to the oil pan, it then goes from the passenger side of the truck under the oil pan to the drivers side to the starter , there will be a smaller size wire that runs with the hot wire to the starter as well im pretty sure this is the impulse wire . if you have any questions feel free to ask me. the wires I got were for my explorer and they were longer then my stock wires, they also had plugs on them to connect to all the other wires on the battery cables.
