Wow. Cant wait for the rest. Great link.

That was awesome

Some of stuff I've read; Autoblog, Car/Driver, etc, talked about Ford crowing about how the Ecoboost compared to the competition.

When I saw that bad boy jerk/drag that first tree up the hill with a nice exhaust note and some balls...well I am digging that @#$@!@#!

That's pretty impressive. I hope they put the truck on a dyno at the very end to see if it has seen any decrease in performance after all the testing.

Wow. I have a whole new perspective on the EcoBoost engines. I thought they were just small, peppy and great on gas.

This EcoBoost engine is a little 3.5l V6!

I cant wait to see the Nascar test!

It's not as much about the 3.5 liters as it is the turbo charger, all the other motors on that graph are N/A.

I didnt know it was turbo'ed?

The production engines use the Duratec 35 V6 engine block. The fuel charging and delivery systems can attain high fuel pressures of up to 2150 PSI, necessary for efficient operation of the direct fuel injection system. It uses 2 Garrett GT15 turbochargers which can spin at up to 170,000 rpm and provide 12 PSI of boost. The engine can consume up to 25% more air over the naturally-aspirated counterpart. Through the use of direct injection, the engine needs only regular-grade gasoline to run, though premium fuel is recommended.

I see what you mean now, deff. doesnt fit on the graph besides the fact that its a truck. Still seems like a good setup though. I just hope they dont go EcoBoost'in the 'Stangs.

I can see it now...1.5 liter EcoBoost 5 speed mustang.....ughhhh!

Thats pretty cool stuff. I just can't fathom how hard you have to run something to get the turbos to glow red.

I just watched the NASCAR track test. That's pretty insane to me, would any of us think our explorers could run that 24 hours at full payload and full throttle without something going wrong? I don't know of many motors that I would have confidence doing that in.

I would, it wasn't really going full throttle if he was only averaging 80mph.

I thought 80 sounded low to me too. He had to be getting on it pretty hard though, the turbos were glowing red. I wonder if that 80 included the pit stops, probably not.
