the left rear channel has started to distort fairly badly, and i know it isnt my new kappas. what would it take to either bypass the amp or get a replacement installed

I would just dump the POS factory amp and HU and go with an aftermarket HU that has preamp outs so you can build on it.

Good luck....

i already have an aiwa HU, but i was wondering how hard it would be to just bypass it, or if i could get another amp and just splice wires onto it

Are you running the aftermarket HU from the factory amp? If so, why?

yes, i am.
it was easier at the time to just install the line level converter instead of taking off the entire panel and splicing wires

Why wouldn't you have just used an aftermarker amp by pass and power with the HU? The factory amp is truly a POS.

how hard would it be to do that?

Easy; just go to Circuit City or your local car audio store and purchase the bypass.

would i need to make any wiring changes behind my HU, cause i have the line level converter and its a ***** to get the whole thing out to change anything
