factory ford remote start

I have a factory ford remote start but I got the truck used with no fob. I added a key fob So I tried to push the unlock two times and the lock two times with no luck.. I was thinking of maybe putting the start wire on the horn so that when I lock my doors the horn will go off and the truck will start?

Any info would be helpful.

I would not recommend moving wires around. CodeAlarm provides all the remote start units for Ford. Try to locate any information on the unit (like a part number) and call CodeAlarm. Their support department is very helpful.

CodeAlarm is owned by Audiovox. Just type "CodeAlarm" into google and the first link that comes up will work. Then just click contact us. It will bring you to their support page. It's easy enough to go from there.
