Has anyone painted or covered some of the big wide black/gray fender trim? We really want to trade our '19 Expedition Stealth on a new ST, but the huge trim around the wheel openings is kind of a turn off. Way wider than it should be. I like the idea of plastic trim on the wheel opening, but 2.5-3" wide is a little much. We really like how the Aviator is trimmed in this area, but not wanting to spend another $15-20K to get that.

Yes, it has been done on the 5th gen Explorer. KG Custom Ford Explorer
I don't think anyone has done it on the 6th gen.

Yes, look in the Modded section. Also, here is one thread from an ST forum on the subject............ Paint Wheel Opening Moldings Only ??

Please provide a link. I did a search and didn't come up with anything in this 6th gen forum. Perhaps the poster used different terminology. Thanks.

My apologies. I thought the link was in our forum but it is not. It is in a different ST forum

No problem. It happens to me sometimes too, bouncing back and forth between this Forum and the Explorer one. ;)
