all we did was plugs and wires and there was no spark and he had a parts car found the parts car was a 91 so the ecm was the wrong one and the diode was bad.. swapped the old ecm back in and it started but it kept backfiring through the intake. it acted like it was 180 out but there is no dist. but after backfiring a couple times it started but wouldn't idle, so we changed the idle air control and the idle smoothed out so we let it run and after a few minutes it died again but started right up, but when we tried to put it up on ramps so we could find the fuel filter it wouldn't pull itself up the ramps without dying it would pop and die. i am thinking egr or fuel pump i will know as soon as i do a pressure test. the sending unit doesn't,t work in the gas tank so it could be a poor ground. where is the electrical connector for the tank and how does it ground?
