Sorry for some pics not being rotated...
Hey so I've finally decided to make an account on here. I have owned my 2001 Sport Trac for over 3 years now and I love it. I've browsed the forums before learning how to do TT and Shackles to a 4x4, and a few more tricks I picked up. But I haven't made an account until today (would have wednesday but spent few days in hospital with my girlfriend... we both had a bad accident).
Before I get to Wednesday's accident and those photos, I'd like to go over what my ST has on it so far:
265/75/r16 tires (upgrading to 285's shortly)
Custom Light bar on roof
TT and Lift Shackles
Reinforced rear hitch mount (this is important as to the accident photos)
That is all but will have plenty more added on soon enough.
Anyway, the accident on Wednesday:
Leaving school around 3:15, my girlfriend and I get into our cars and begin driving back to her house to finish homework... maybe. (Please note we are both 18 and do not need a lecture). Not even one block from the school we are waiting on a LONG red light, I am one car infront of her SUV. I place my truck in park knowing we will be there a while. The moment I do, I look in my mirror just to catch her car being slammed into by a minivan going aprox. 70mph. The collision launches her SUV onto its side landing ontop of the Lexus behind my truck. The lexus slides forward and stops due to my truck being in park. My girlfriend's car did not flip but it is completely totaled. She only recieved a broken thumb and a concussion from the accident and was in the hospital thrusday and today I took her home. (BTW her car is the blue SUV)
On the lighter side, everyone was okay in the accident. My girlfriend will be using the insurance money from her car to purchase an Explorer now (she has been converted). And according to first responders, my truck prevented the other cars from continuing and my girlfriends from flipping. So another win for the ST... Here are some pictures of everything (truck and accident)
I have converted the two switch set-up into one toggle switch on the left side of the steering column.
