2016 Ford Explorer Sport
Just put my order in for a 2016 Ford Explorer Sport in Magnetic Metallic, 401a and pano sunroof with Apple Ford in Columbia, MD. Not the best price I received but they have a lifetime power train warranty and they were the best dealership I dealt with in the area.

Now, the hard part of waiting for them to find the truck and get it shipped here. They said it should be here within 48-72 hours. Just in time for the snow storm this weekend :burnout:

Cross shopped the Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland vs the Explorer Sport. To be honest I think the Jeep was probably the better buy for the price, but I love the look of the EX Sport and the Ecoboost was just too hard to walk away from. I got quoted a JGC Overland V6 for $3,500 less than the EX Sport. The interior on the Jeep was better in my mind but not by much and I think the V6 JGC was boring. I could just see myself regretting not getting the Ex Sport, but I don't see me regretting not buying a Jeep.

Coming from a 2009 Infiniti G37S which was pretty heavily modded. Plan to do intake and tune eventually on the Explorer but that is probably it.

The Infiniti I am coming from. They gave me 12k trade. I probably could have sold it private for $15 but I got tired of waiting.

Wow, that sucker would drag on a horse turd! Way, way too low for me. You made a good choice.

haha yeah. Now that I am doing a lot more driving around MD, DC, VA for work, the car had to go. It was nice when all I had to do was drive to work then to home.

I never had any problems with speed bumps, but pot holes and dead animals gave me a heart attack.

I figured the Ex Sport would still provide some thrill while being a comfortable 7 passenger SUV I can drive for 10 years.

The V6 GC has that 9 speed tranny, be glad you avoided that.

Nice choice and nice car. 48-72 hrs may seem like a long time(suppose it seems longer with a storm on the horizon), but try ordering a new one from the factory and having to wait 3-4 months. That was a killer, but well worth the wait.

Yeah I am really excited. I'll post a couple pictures when I pick it up. I hope it fits in the one car garage!

That's what I've read. Interior in the Jeep was more comfortable though. That and the price are really the only things that even made it a question. The Ex sport is what I always wanted though.

Ted Britt in Fairfax might have one.....

That's where my PA dealer located mine....magnetic, 401a only. In October, they had a selection of Sports.

My dealer has a silver 401a with the moon roof....

I think they said they found one in Allentown, PA. The guy is supposed to get back to me this morning with an update, but nothing yet...

Funny thing is, I priced at all the local dealers to find the best deal and a local dealer (Lindsay Ford) has the exact truck I want but will not trade it to Apple Ford because they know its for me.

I gave them a fair shot but they wouldn't give me a price and they were very pushy. Plus they have terrible dealer reviews

My guy had numerous calls to other dealers and they wouldn't return his calls....you'll get one.

Congrats! I'm making a similar move myself (just bought a 2013 XLT and coming from a 2013 G37xS sedan). I'm outside of DC - definitely glad to have the truck for this weekend's fun!

Congrats to you too!

I'll be happy if I get mine in time

Probably going to miss the G37 a little bit but I can't wait to be back in an SUV.

My first car ever was a 1995 Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer in Forrest Green and Gold! Had over 250k miles on it, but it ran like a champ until I traded it in.

I'll definitely miss my G37, but being that this was my 2nd one (i had a 2010 prior - leased both of them), it's time to move on. Right now i'm enjoying the benefit of having both since the Infiniti doesn't get turned in til 3/1 - a good thing since that's AWD as well! I'm driving that today and left the Exp. for my wife - here's hoping I don't have to fight her for it going forward - she loves driving it too! This is my first SUV (had sport sedans all prior), but life changes necessitate the move - so far i'm liking it a lot!
