Has anybody ever switched the single speed rear wiper in a 91-94 for the intermittent style used on newer ones? What is involved in changing it over?

I'd be curious to hear about this too, it goes too fast for it's own darn good.

too fast? If anything, mine is too slow....

too fast, too slow? ha mine just skips over the window.

I second the skipping, I've been thinking about just removing it all together and adding a little cheap light back there so when I'm out campin at night I can get a fair amount of light in the rear of the vehicle.

I didn't even know newer X's has intermittent ones LOL

I'm sure you could just get a wiper motor from any vehicle that has intermittent wipers and install it back there. They're just about all 12volt...

Thanks guys! Once I'm out of some of my Uni debt I'm gonna look into that link that CP posted.

Rear wiper skip

My rear wiper only wipes half of the back window...the driver side...jumps over the other half. Any explanations why this happens? 2001 Limited.

The rear wiper was originally designed for a flat window.....in 1998, Ford changed to the curved rear glass, and didnt see that the wiper would not contour to the glass very well.

How old is the wiper blade? When mine gets old it does that.
