So this weekend I plan to service my truck. I've only put about 1k miles on it, but you never know if the dealer really did change the oil, service the trans, etc.

Besides which, nobody wrences your car with the same TLC that you do. :D

Aside from an oil/trans fluid change, checking the plugs/wires, what else is a good idea?

I was thinking transfer case and timing belt - but honestly this is my first american car and first 4x4 in a long while, so I'm not 100% sure where to start. :)

Any pointers appreciated.

Edit: 72k miles, btw.

I would change oil ( go synthetic ) and filter, flush the tranny with synthetic ATF, and change the rear end ( go synthetic ). Check tire ( as well as spare ) pressure.

Good luck.....

fuel filter, check and clean your IAC, and MAF. Change radiator coolant
