First week annoyances

Wow! Thanks for the tip! Please let me know if the control module fixes the issue.

Well just got back from the dealer with the new liftgate module installed. Checked out the operation. Waste of time, same problems still exist. Not sure what to do at this point??

Take it back again since the issue still exists. Perhaps they will dig a little deeper into the problem or get Ford engineering involved. Did they check the 'pinch sensors' to see if that might be the cause for the 'gate' to stop closing?

What a bummer... and your tip didn't work for me, by the way. There seems to be no rhyme or reason why it will or won't close.

Someone suggested on another thread that it may be setup that way to prevent being locked out. I checked and they were right, all it took was to hit the unlock button and the liftgate worked fine.

I'll try that and report back. Thanks!

I cured the radio problem. I just let my wife get out of the car and close her door before shutting down the engine. But, I don't know of a way to extend the time the power is on.
This tip definitely helps with keeping everything going when my wife gets out. The other thing I’ve started doing, which seems a bit funny, but works, is to activate an 8 minute timer on my iPhone and every time it goes off, I press the Ignition button twice and then restart the timer. This prevents it from ever turning off. A pain, but the lesser of the two.

The radio will stay on much longer if you just use its power ON button. I believe mine stays ON for at least 20 minutes or more. The radio button is always powered so need to have the ignition ON or in accessory mode. In my 5th gen. the radio would stay ON much longer when using its ON button.
