fixing rust spots

I have a 93 ex, with some minor rust on front bumper(chrome) and on the inner rear doors, my question is what do I need to do to atleast slow the rust formation down. Suggestions? Ideas? Thank you

the minor rust on the bumper i find that using some dirt on a wet cloth will take it right off....NOT FOREVER, but at least for the time being....thats one of those tricks you learn from your mom, THanks mom

i got some chrome and aluminum polish i use and it gets rid of rust but not forever. after winter here i do it again. looks damn good though.

For the bumper, buff the rust off and polish the entire bumper and I would suggest sealing the chrome with a clear coat. Keeps the oxygen from the rust area.

I herd if u rub some coke on the rust spot then sand it down u can repaint it and the rust will completly go away im not sure if its true but its worth a try.

On that show Mythbusters on Discovery channel, they tested whether coke would polish a rusted a chrome bumper and to my surprise and their's, the coke actually worked and performed better than the polishes they bought from the store!!

It was just regular coca cola, but they had the can covered up due to legal issues of showing a brand name product

True, it was actually aluminum foil, as "tin" is not used any more in prodcution of commercial foil products
