Flashlight mount

I have a flashlight I want to mount securely at the front of my drivers seat.

has anyone done this? I would prefer not to drill, but will if that is the only way.

I don't have a specific mount, but was thinking I could find some kind of mount at the hardware store. like those spring loaded broom handle holders or something like that.

I did a quick search, but only found people showing off their flashlights on the ranger side

Depending upon the weight of the flashlight, have you considered perhaps using velcro? I carry a small LED flashlight and carry it in the centre console.

I would suggest the same.....Velcro.

Not the consumer version, but the commercial or industrial version.

As was suggested above a nice small LED with velcro attachment will work well and then if you wish to move it all together to sell the truck it will not leave any holes.

I think it needs something more than that, maybe I could do some industrial velcro straps

I bought a 2 cell Maglite. Fits nicely in the center console.

In my old Explorer, I had a 3 cell that I kept on the inboard side of the passenger seat against the center console. Friction kept it there just fine. It was just too long to fit in the console though, so I bought a 2 cell.

Man cannot have too many Maglites!

Time to upgrade to a smaller flashlight. I have one barely bigger than a AA battery that will put out more light than a 4D maglight.

like the guy said above me. i have a 3 or 4 cell mag lite that is kept in the drivers door little slot pocket. then i have a small 9 led light up in the visor between the info station and the visor sits there just fine. and then i have a 3 brightness variation led stuffed between the passanger seat and the center console next to my cb. both sit there great.

you may wonder why i have 3? mag for fire department and other randomness. led for hunting. and then 3 variation for my emt job. they all work lovely!

mine is not actually a mag light, it is a large Cree LED tactical flashlight, I will work on something and report back

To get the strength to hold the flashlight you can use 3m dual lock. It is like the two "male" parts of velcro that interlock. If anyone has a toll tag/smarttag/easypass it is the same stuff used to put them on the windsheild.

Your bigger problem is getting anything to stick to the plastic in the truck. Most of it is polyethylene and nothing likes to stick to it. If you try the dual lock, make sure you clean well with alcohol, then press hard for a minute and let it adhere for 24 hours before you put weight on it. Use plenty of dual lock too and it will help disperse the weight.

Still way to big. You can get something comparable in output in about 1/8 the size for under $100.
