Fist of all I'm a new member and have already learned a lot about my 2000 Ranger and 2002 Moutaineer ,so thanks for the info.

My latest issue with 00 Ranger 3.0 Flex Fuel is the fuel pump and sender. I was left stranded on the side of the road last night and had to have it towed to my mechanic. He says I need a new fuel pump and sending unit and because of the FF its going to cost around $800.00.

First I'm wondering what the differance in the FF & regular pump is , and if there is any way to use a straight gasoline fuel pump ?

Also how big a job is it to replace it myself. I'm not a mechanic but I know how to use tools.

It been a bad week for me, I found out the 02 mounty needs about $1800.00 of repairs also.

Any knowledge would be apreciated, Thanks.

I have one of those, but it's in Yuma.

I'd hit up Rockauto and parts stores, price a new fuel pump for it.

Take the bed off to replace it and get a new float from Ford, $8.

T55 and a breaker bar for the bed blots, hit them with solvent from underneath for a couple days if you can, they'll be tight.

I have no idea what's different about the FF FP.

Checked Advanced Auto $470.00 for pump sending unit assembly. Good idea to take the bed off ,so I wont have to drop the tank.
