Flex plate adapter.

I have a 2000 explorer 4.0 x engine with 5r55e trans. Has anyone had any trouble with the flex plate spacer wearing out causing a vibration. A local transmisson shop said he sees them wear out all the time but the local ford dealers say they have never sold them before and the mechanics tell me they have not replaced them either. Having a vibration between 2000 and 2500 rpm even with it in park.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 95-01 section. Ford's part is made out of powdered iron while Sonnax's part is made out of billet steel. Get the Sonnax part.

The part I got from Ford was an updated version. You could see the machining marks on it unlike the cast original.
