hey guys, I have a 95 4.0 Explorer Limited and i was interested in puting a flowmaster exhaust system on it. I was doing some research on the diferent types of mulfflers that flowamster offers and I had herd that the 50 and the 40 series worked well for the explorer. I am looking for a deep low sound that is loud. I know that this is harder to achieve since i have a six cilinder but i was just curious to see if anyone knew about the new super 44 muffler that flowmaster offers. does it sound good on a explorer and if not what would sound the best? P.S i plan to dump the exhaust after the muffler.

Do it right and have a tail pipe installed too. It will help with the sound believe it or not, just having it dumped, resonates terribly and the sound is not as good. I've done it with a bunch of different mufflers. I have a super 44 sitting in the garage here, I got it from another member here who didn't like it, I tried it and wasn't impressed with it. I am currently running a Cherry Bomb Pro muffler. Its a 2 chamber muffler, it is not a glass pack. This is so far the best sounding muffler I've found for my truck, the 4.0 OHV. Here is my sound clip...

The shop I went to years ago to install my flowmaster, made a pipe that bolted up to the flange on the cat, they used 2.5" pipe. I just chopped off the flowmaster and had the shop weld the other muffler on for me, bend up a new tailpipe and had everything welded up.
