My 2011 Explorer has a strange fluttering (or sputter) sound coming from under the hood when I first start it up when it's cold. It only does this under light to medium throttle while accellerating from a dead start.
This noise only lasts for a couple of miles and gradually goes away when it is fully warmed up.
I've been noticing this noise more lately because of the colder weather
Anyone else with this problem.
Thank's
Steve

Take it to the dealer. There is a technical service bulletin to address a ticking noise when the engine is cold. Some ticking is normal in this car
