i have the 899 foglights, but i have superwhite headlights, with superwhite corners. However, the amber light of the foglights makes it really ugly. Anyone have any ideas on where i can get 899 superwhites?? or should i just switch to the PIAA 930 ? 90 pro xt or 980 dual sport or 60xt... which will fit in the stock fog light location? and which is the best fog light?

Go to www.autotoys.com. Look under the lights section. You want to find the 893 bulbs either by Eurolite or Hyper. I got a pair of Eurolite 893s and they look great!

A few guys around here have PIAA 1500 XT's in the stock location. You can also ugrade the bulbs in the 1500s to PIAA superwhites. They should match your headlights nicely. I have the 1500 driving lights and they are VERY bright, even without the superwhite replacements. You'll see much improvement over the stockers.

I'm assuming your wired your PIAA 1500 driving lights direct, avoiding the OEM driving light power source, as it cuts off if you have your high beams on. Or do you use then with your low beams? I am considering the purchase of PIAA Super White replacement elements for the headlights, as well as the 1500 driving lights. Super White elements for the driving lights may be a bit overboard (as least as far as my budget is concerned).

http://www.central4wd.com offers free ground shipping, with prices about the same as the other site.

You assume correctly, I do have my PIAA 1500s wired directly with the provided PIAA wiring harness. I have the relay power hooked to the radio fuse, so I can turn the lights on whenever I want as long as the key is on. And just about the only time I use the lights is when I am all by myself on a dark road anyway. I can't turn them on if there is ANY oncoming traffic....I get flashed from a long ways off.

You should be satisfied with the performance of the PIAA superwhite headlight replacements. I have the superwhite headlights but I do not have the superwhite replacements in the 1500s and the colors between the headlights and the driving lights are just about the same. Besides, no one will be around to see them anyway. Overall, I am VERY satisfied with the brightness of the 1500s. They really throw some light out there.

Would it be ok to use the existing wires for the stock lights with the piaa 1500 driving lights? I would move the fog light wire over to the high beam wire so that they are only on when my high beams are on. Is there anything about that that sounds like it wont work? Im not good with relays and watts and amps. The lights are $189 on that site that yamaharick linked us. Anyone seen them cheaper somewhere else? Also, anyone know the difference between the clear driving lights and the ion driving lights? in my performance products catalog the clears are $217 and the ions are $226.

There are some guys around here who have done just that and don't seem to have any trouble. I wanna say that Rytm1 has done this and even posted how he did it. If you try a search for him you might find it.

BTW: mattadams can get the 1500s for $170 through the group purchase. I bought mine from him. Have no fear--he's VERY reliable.

Here's the thread: Dead Link Removed

Hope this helps.

No problem man. And the Ion crystal ones shine yellow light, while the clears shine white. The yellow is supposed to cut through fog and rain and foul weather better than the clear does. I prefer the clear myself, but there isn't much fog here. The color is actually on the lense, not the bulb, so if you get yellow ones and you really wanted the clear ones, you'll have to change the lenses.
