Ford Explorer 92 XLT with a code 629
Hi,
today I did do the pressure measurements. The pressure reading was 90 - 100 psi in cold idle. It did not change very much once the engine was at operating temperature. In contrast to the last time I did lift the back of the car thus the wheels were free and could turn. The first try by switching to "R" caused the engine to stall. The second try lead to a more positive result. The engine did not stall. The pressure jumped to 150 psi. Increasing the revolutions/min did not result in a change. The pressure reading was stable at 150 psi.
The next try was doing the same with "D". The engine did not stall. The pressure reading dropped to 60 - 70. Increasing the revolutions/min did not lead to a change. The pressure reading was stable.
These tests were done with the rear wheels being free, thus able to turn. As soon as the brake was activated the engine stalled in both instances.
