Welcome to the Forum! Try and d/c the neg. battery terminal for about 10 minutes I believe thats the required time that it takes the computer to reset its self.

Check the vacuum hose that runs from the back of the intake plenum to the brake booster. If this hose is leaking or disconnected, the engine will sputter and die.

thanx for the ideas guys i will try and disconnect the battery for the 10 min and see what happens and while im waiting for that i will check the vaccum line. i will try this stuff when i get off work today and pot what happens.

so i tried all those thing and it still rund ****ty it still sputters and stalls so i tried putting the old intake on and it runs fine.

What exactly do you mean by "intake". Is it merely a smoother intake tube? Or does it also replace the MAS, or other things? Because it sounds like the new intake is either not compatible with the original intake or it has a deficiency (its "broken"; has a hole somewhere; is not creating a tight seal against the throttle body; etc...).

it a a new pipe new fittings and it utilizes the stock mass air flow sensor and new filter

Intake is not an air cleaner. Intake is an intake manifold.

Recheck all of the hoses and clamps to the air cleaner and inlet pipe. What brand of inlet pipe or air cleaner did you buy. Many others here surely have also installed it. Describe it more clearly so that they can help you better. Good luck,

I agree with you Don. What type of intake did this guy install? Until we get this information we cant help. Did he eliminate any fittings, hoses, etc?

Get rid of the Spectre and purchase a MAC,K&N,Volant, etc. 90% of the problems I see after the installation of a cold air intake is driveability. Especially with alot of the cheaper versions and or home made versions. I hear this on a daily basis and most of the time just getting a different cold air will resolve all the problems.

yes i have checked the fitting they are all tight also on the old intake it had 2 hoses that ran into the side and a sensor. There is a hole in the new one for the sensor only and there are 2 little filters that clamp on to the two hoses that went into the old pipe and those also are tight. i was wondering maybe if i drilled 2 holes in the pipe so that those 2 hoses went int to the pipe if that would help

well i contacted the ebay seller that i purchased that from and he is willing to take the product back so once i get the refund from that i am goin to purchase either the k&N or the AEM Brute force any reccomendations on which one and a good place to get it

Ebay, definately stay away from them. I have been selling MAC with great success. It is a good intake and you won't have any surprises. Contact me if interested.-j

its probably way too late now, but the problem is more than likely with one of the hoses that you say you put a filter on.
one of the hoses runs to the valve covers which is ok to simply put a filter on
but the other one runs back into the intake which is metered air so if you put a filter on it, it is sucking in air that the maf doesnt know about which is why it sputters and bogs down when you first step on the throttle
