Hi everyone.
My name is Stan and I have a power window problem that is quite simple and I.m sure happens frequently but no one seems to address.
When your window goes up or down and ends with an audible "clunk", you are experiencing the beginning of the end of an operating window. I have had this happen 3 times now (once on driver's side and twice on the passenger side). The cause each time was the failure of a part in the gear train between the motor and the regulator. This part appears tom be made of nylon or some form of plastic. It is in a position to take most of the pressure during window operation. This pressure causes it to crack thereby causing window operation failure. The only fix I've been able to find is the purchase of a new motor. This is most frustrating since the offending part is easily accessable and should be easily replaced at very little cost. Does anyone know where this part may be obtained? Can it be purchased made out of metal or, at least, a more substantial material?
