I do not think that you can get the start without the alarm on it. I had just the keyless entry on mine and they added some modules and wiring to it to become a full blown working alarm with a remote start. Costs was aroune $350. Dealer installed also.

HotDogs

i was quoted 375 i said no thanks:D

I was told $399 remote starter, $499 remote start with alarm from the ford dealer by my house, and they don't need an extra key it's included in the price.

Called after market places too. They were quoting $389 for alarm with remote start. but I would need to provide them a key already programmed to the vehicle, which brings the cost to just under the ford dealer.

But the ford dealer said that their system was lifetime warranty, as well as any other problems caused by it.

i think i might just buy the bulldog remote startwith the t harness and install it myself

I seriously would just get the bulldog and do it yourself. You can pick up the remote start module for less than $100 and the transponder bypass for around $30.

It took me somewhere around 4 hours to install, but I've done one before. My first one took about 8. I'd rather spend that time than an extra $200!

i am not even gonna bother with the transponder bypass i am just gonna get a key from ebay and hide it by the steering wheel

i bought me a sindwinder 6500esp from bii beast and installed myself...not that hard, just long for someone who's nver done it before. but getting the wiring connected and spiliced is the hardest. aint that hard :D

that first pic kind of scares me however on a warm day i will give it a shot

dont be scared. if you have electrical knowledge (i.e. good crimp/solder connections, positive, negitive, fuses, and arent color blind) you'll be fine. just take your time, read the instructions, double check wires, and go from there. after everything was wired, it remoted started just like it was supposed too. 1st for me for something to work first time. :D but its worth it, and it saves a couple hundred bucks!

now that i look closer it is what 5or6 relays a module and then just finding the right wires to splice. i was planning on using thosw quick splice things by3m but the directions say not to. owell time to bust out the soldering iron

ya, the module, three relays for the remote start, one relay for the starter kill, and two relays for the lock/unlock. the instructions had which wire went where, and i didnt use a third of the wiring. i used regular two way butt conectors (not best solution) for the wire conections. i didnt use soldering because of the tightness of the wires underneath the dash. just take your time, and if you can get a wiring diagram for your vehicle, that would be even more helpful. like, for ex., the lock wire on my ex, for the lock relay, is pink with yellow. that guide told me that. i dont know where you can get it though. if you have any more questions, just contact me. good luck!

I dont think that's gonna work. I tried starting my truck with an unprogrammed key and held a programmed key RIGHT next to it and it didnt start. When I installed my ford silver system (got it on ebay for $125, keyless entry and remote start) I had to use all the pats stuff and I didnt have to get an extra key. I just had to have 2 programmed keys so the module could learn the code.

It's not that easy to bypass the pats system by sticking a key in the column.

my sindwinder had an option where you could bypass the pats system....but you do have to get the relay for it.

i think that would work...maybe call ford for a specific wiring guide for your vehicle so you know which wires to splice into....very helpful

Yes, that will remote start your truck, but I have a feeling you will run into problems with the factory keyless entry and perimiter alarm. I believe that is the bronze system which is only remote start. Mine was the silver system which was keyless entry and remote start so it basically took over my factory keyless entry and alarm and controls it all. I have a feeling you might run into some sort of problems with having to use both systems independently. I could be wrong tho... Call your dealer.
