hope the new upgrade includes outside air temp on the display just like all other manufactures!
(I know it is also on the drivers side, passenger can't see it)

Unless this feature is one of the "refinements" made before the release, I doubt it will be there. Not exactly a 'deal breaker' in my book but it would be nice to have.
UPDATE: check out the thread Voice activated sync, broke, nav, broke , FordIVTteam has provided a link to a video on Cnet. Looks like the clock area was increased in size so I don't think the outside temp display will be where you want it.

Maybe I'm mistaken (My wife has the Explorer, won't let me have it) but my display, the MFT screen, indicates the outside temp.

I think cbx1047 is referring to the upcoming new version of the MFT (see his link). Mine also currently displays the outside temp on the main screen (V2.4).
I think it is very thoughtful of your wife to let you look at it every now and then.;)

Hey Rebecca,

Is there anyone with which we can communicate the try to make sure they don't take the outside temperature off of the MFT when the revision comes out?

Thanks

Does it really matter? It displays it on the dash next to the time on the Right Side menu by the speedometer anyways.

I and many others will be disappointed if the new software dioes not show the outside temp.

I'll vote for leaving the temperature off the center screen.

It's either hot, balmy, or cold outside. My hand can tell me that :D

Maybe the importance of knowing the exact temperature of the atmosphere immediately surrounding my automobile has faded for me as the years have passed.

Honestly, I have only known one car that was accurate in telling the outside temperature, so I'll pass on having my car lie to me day after day. I can't take that sort of perpetual betrayal.

Out of curiosity, you Ex owners, how accurate have you found your outside temp gauges to be?

My point is, It's still right in front of you anyways even if it's not on that screen, it's on the other. How many places does the vehicle need to tell you the wrong time and temperature?....lol.

Hi, deerfarm!

I can submit your feedback to the appropriate people. You can also submit your idea, under YOUR IDEAS, here:

http://social.ford.com/

I can't speculate on if it'll be removed or not, but the outside temp will also be in the right-hand infotainment cluster. :)

Thanks for the feedback Rebecca. I also appreciate you forwarding my input to the appropriate people.

From what I've seen of the new screens and unless Ford makes a change, I would say, be ready to be disappointed. No big deal in my opinion. One display is sufficient.

I personally like to glace at my MFT screen for all my info.

My temperature readout is within 1 degree or the same of any outside bank sign or business sign that I see that has the temperature displayed.

I often look at the temperature during the winter to see if it's 32 or below so I can tell if the roads are going to start icing up.

I do not find the right hand LCD cluster to be easy to see with my preferred seating/wheel position.

Honestly, how big does the clock need to be? Did people really have a hard time seeing the current readout for the time?

Hope they fix the GPS in big cities issue. Rode around San Francisco last weekend and the MFT lost its !%#@#&$ mind!! Guess it was the tall buildings. Once I left the city it corrected itself.

Perhaps it was made larger for the 3rd row passengers.:D
I'm 65 and use reading glasses, but not while driving and I can read the current clock just fine.

It's at the bottom of the right hand LED cluster......

My Garmin does the same thing in large cities. Last year in Chicago I was ready to through the thing out but when I left downtown it figured itself out.

Unfortunately that is a GPS system problem... Signals are blocked by tall buildings, mountains, etc. Not something Ford can fix.
The government is working on a next generation GPS system though that would alleviate these issues. Won't be ready for a while though.

Ford should have given some Beta copies to some of us...everyday users, so we can test and give feedback. We have been using the sysytem for about a year and know what to look for in an update.
