Well I was looking into putting lights on my Ex
I got a small little kit from Tiger Accessories Corp
http://blazer-international.com/products/Fog_Driving_Lights/Incandescent_Fog_Driving/RE854B
thats the kit I got
I remembered I had some old offroad lights in a box in my closet so I took a look
4 HELLAS! woohoo! score! Metal housing, solid glass lens, I just need to get some safety covers (don't want some trees claiming them!) Idk where to get them though
That can be taken care of
Anyways the point to this post is to let you guys know my explorer is getting outfitted with 6 lights and 3 switches! (We love our switches here at EF)
Also it was to let you know that I stumbled upon some Hella's just chillen in my room!

Where will you mount all of them?

Haha IK right!
actually I am building a roof basket
2 hellas will be mounted to face backwards on the basket (switch for lights)
the front of the basket will feature 2 mounted towards the middle (switch for lights), a flag mount(for offroad flags required at silver lake), and a cb whip mount (for cb I am mounting at the factory stereo)
the fog lights will go where the factory lights normally would be (switch for lights) (maybe ill put them in the grill...)
I have a single din stereo to go in the stock stereo position, and that will be on the top half, on the bottom half will be my cb
what do you think?
the basket will go in the roof rack, not on it, and the roof rack will be able to take my snowboard car top carrier still
I plan on moving the spare up there, I like the look...
the basket will be square, with a 6 in side rail all the way around with mesh for straps (ratchet, bungee) on the bottom and around the sides, it will also have a shovel mount, and a hilift jack mount
last night I bought a cargo rack for the hitch, I am modifying it to fit my Cr125 so I can carry it with the explorer, with the basket on the roof I can put gas, tents, and strap a kayak up top
then my interior cargo area will be able to hold my cooler, clothes, any other gear
and I could still seat 5 people!

That should look nice once its all done up.

i was orignally going to buy 6 hella and go for a prerunner look. i cut and milled some tubing for the lights but never got around to welding it. this was my idea

i had two 6" pieces of tubing per side welded to a 10"x3"x5/8" piece of stainless steel bar with holes drilled in it to mount to the frame

I might go ahead and make some drawing of my idea and post to here
But the idea is to get the offroad mudder look
most mudders have lights mounted up top
I want my fogs low obviously
so i would have 3 tiers of lights, not bad huh?
