Thought I'd say Hi now that I picked up our second Explorer..
Lurked since October when I got the red one as a plow truck. Ended up being so good in the snow and handling the plowing duties that I bought a nicer one for our family car..
so now we have two 1999 XLT's
Red one is a 4.0 auto with 146,000 and has typical rocker rot and a good sized dent on the passenger rear quarter.. It was $1000
Black one we just got.. it's a 5.0 auto AWD and has way less rust and it also only has 81,000 miles on it. It was $2700
Black one came from a dealer and they replaced the windshield, front door lock actuators, AC compressor and tie rod ends before we picked it up last week.
Battery was very old and the truck cranked a little slow for my liking so I picked up a battery tonight.
This weekend I'll replace all the filters, flush the coolant and repalce a couple of dash lights that are out.
Overall I'm very happy with these trucks.. We had a full size Expedition prior and I don't miss it a bit~
Here's the red one with the plow setup... it was a monster all winter and never let me down.
Well thats it.. glad to have found an active forum for these types of vehicles..
makes owning one so much easier when there's a resource to turn to when something unexpected pops up ~
