Okay, well I dont know if any of you have been keeping up w/ my other thread regarding my locker problems. I attempted to pull the Powertrax no slip locker out of my 1992 Explorer and install it in my 2001 Explorer Sport Trac. This didnt work at all! For some reason Ford changed the carrier in the ST. The axles are still identical but they just changed the carrier. Anyhow, I ended up doing a full axle swap and put my 1992 axle on my 2001 ST w/ the locker in it!
I just got off the phone w/ Powertrax and they want me to send my 2001 ST carrier in so they can redisign there Locker to work w/ the ST. They gave me all kinds of info as far as where to send it and to the attn of: I actually spoke w/ the man that will be working on my carrier. I told him to keep it for however long he needs it! The best part of all is:
I GET THE VERY FIRST ONE MADE FOR FREE!!!!!!!!!! Im all over it! So here in the next couple months when you see the locker in Magazines you will know who helped in the process. Just thought I would let you guys know! I thought it was pretty kewl.....

Hey thats awesome. congrats.

You know what I always say " If it's for free it'e for me"
You’ve heard about the guy who was so cheep that when he woke up in the morning, he looked under the bed to see if he lost any sleep? Well I’ve been told I look a lot like him.

Thats great! Maybe they will use a pic of your vehicle or mention your name in the ad.

Hey Brian, is that change only for the ST?? I'm looking at putting a powertrax in my 01 XLS, and I don't wanna run into the same problem.

So far, I only know of the Sport Trac! Noone even knew of this problem until I ran into it! Maybe someone will post here and let us know if they have installed a unit on the 2001 four door! Its been a pain in the arse.

Update: The trac is finished and running strong w/ its 1992 axle and powertrax. I will be leaving today for the slabs here in Texas, for a weekend of off-roading and camping! Should be a good chance to test out my work.
