- 2000 Ford Explorer Limit
Hey all, long time users/reader first time poster. I have seen a lot of the threads about front end humming noise but still haven't found the answer I am looking for.
I have a 2000 explorer limited 4.0 4x4 and I am getting a loud humming noise from the front end. The noise seemed to be coming from the passenger side so I figured wheeling bearing which is no big deal. Changed it with a brand new one and still the humming. I thought maybe my tires were out of balance so I went and got brand new ones with a front and rear end aliginment and still It humms! The hum starts at about 25mph and continues at any speed after that, but when I turn right the noise stops. It doesn't make a difference weather I am accelerating or coasting still the same. The driverside bearing seems to be tight and fine I check that already and I am running out of ideas. I would hate to change the driver side bearing and spend money I don't need to if the bearing is fine.
Any thoughts?
