Front end shimmy

I just completed some long overdue maintenance on the X, with the last job as replacing the outer tie rod ends. The new parts cleaned up the looseness in the driver's side, and about 1/2 the passenger side. I still have about 1/4 inch of wiggle in the right front, side-to-side. I could see the whole tie rod moving. I don't have the tools for the inner ends, so I took it to the dealer. They said it was OK, and that much movement was 'normal'.

Anyone have this much slop in the right front? Seems way excessive to me.

You should have absolutely no play in the system. It sounds like the inner tie-rod is bad.

so are you saying when I'm in park with the truck jacked up I shouldn't be able to move the wheels side to side at all?
