Hi there guys and girls. Hope any of you give me an idea of whats going on. I have a 4x4 96 xlt and have a terrible noise (whaaammm whaaammmm whaaammm) coming from the front end. I try to remedy this by rotating the tires with no results. Then I notice a small leak on my front diff right where the shatf couples to the diff, I replaced the seal no leaks but the sound is still there.
The sound increases with speed not engine speed. I already tested for that by getting my rig up to speed then shifting to neutral and the sound still there ruling out the possibility of a bad pulley or something like that on the engine. Plus something I think I should mention the fluid on the front diff looked really bad when drainned.
I've being doing searches, nothing I read so far is what I'm looking for. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
