Front Shock Install gone bad

I was putting on new front shocks.

93 XLT 4wd

and the lower bolt broke right off.

good thing I have a welder.

why isnt this bolt removable? or is it?

It is not. I myself have broken that bolt on a friends truck. Just welded a new one in its place.

Someone posted in another post that there is a kit at some parts store for fixing this...

cut off the old bolt
drill a hole
use the bolt kit from ___________.

Does anyone know if Autozone or Pep Boyz carries this?

and what to ask for...
