I was given a 96 explorer that was slightly wrecked. The wreck left the passenger tire turned outward and the drivers stays straight forward. I got under there but couldnt see anything wrong or broken. Any suggestions on a possible fix? Thanks
the most likely cause is a bent tie rod, this will mess up the toe setting of your alignment. If you look at each wheel there is a rod that connects them to the pitman arm, which in turn connects to your steering box. It's that rod that is probably bent causing the wheel to be pushed out of alignment. You will also want to pull each of the wheels and look really close at all the attachment points on the frame to the front suspension, just to make sure there is nothing bent or cracked.
