I have looked at getting polyurethane bushings for the front sway bar.
I see they are available for the stock bar and sometimes there is a listing for a bushing for a 1" bar.
Did the '91-'94s ever have an optional 1" front sway bar?
I've looked at over 30+ in the junkyard and haven't seen a 1" front sway bar.

Yes they did.

You want to go really nuts... Try to find an '89 Ranger STX with the 1 3/16" front sway bar. Its a direct swap.

I've never heard or seen of a factory 1" bar, but Hellwig made some larger sway bars for the 91-94 for awhile, and Explorer Express had some custom made as well.

Generally the bushings for the larger bars seem to be standard height ones though, not the taller ones like factory. Which manufacturer are you finding listings for the 1" bushings from?

Generally I just suggest people get the whole Hyper-flex kit from Energy Suspension, which has all the stock replacement bushings in polyurethane, including everything for the stock sway bars.

Moog K8690, Federal Mogul PK8690, ACDelco 45G0636 and Raybestos 550-1136 (blue) or 550-1136B (black) are the ones I have seen.
I think the Federal Mogul is from Moog because they are both blue and the part no.s are basically the same.
The bushings all look just like the tall stock Explorer ones and I think are the same as 1992-2008 E-series vans.
Not sure if any are polyurethane, but I'm guessing the blue ones are.
I just want a little more firmness in the front and I can get the bars for around $20 in the junkyard.

If you just want a little more firmness in front, I'd say go for the Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings for the stock size bars, but get them for the front AND the rear, not just the front. Explorerexpress has them for a good price.

If you ever find a 1" or the 1 3/16" bars, then you could get the larger bushings if you still needed them.
