Front wheels not engageing

Removed shift motor,shifted trans case manually,still no engagement, what usually goes bad in case?

There's an electromagnetic clutch in the transfer case, it's energised by the brown wire.
Check the brown wire for voltage.

I don't know how many volts it should have but "some" is a good place to start.
