Thanks for your forum to help us newbies out! I added a name brand fuel treatment/injector cleaner, took my truck out and could only get 35 mph max out of it, what did I do to myself??!?

You'll need to be more specific. Which name brand and did you add it to the tank?

I recently changed oil and filter, poured a bottle of chemtool into our pickup and immediately was hit with a Check engine light. This truck has never displayed one it it's lifetime. I assumed it was the fuel additive but strangely enough it was a coincidence as I found the real issue was poor connection to the evap solenoid. Total coincidence. Don't swing at the outside slider-----

Is there a check engine light displayed? Might want to make sure the check engine light even works by turning the key to "on" and viewing the bulb check sequence.

Gumout added to a full tank of gasoline , no check engine light at any time, I am returning to Colorado on Thursday. I will report back when I can check things again for the forum. Thanks again
