fuel filter question

my 2004 ford explorer, 4.0, has 2 diffrent end on the fuel filter, i can get the metal end off, but the other end has a black plastic end on it, i got one piece of the clip undone but im not sure if the back side off the clip comes off or not, becuase i cant get it off for anything

you got the red clip undone? if you have the red clip open you then have to kinda push both open ends up towards the back, if that makes sense. you may have to squeeze them together a bit then push...

WHen I did my filter it was a major PITA to remove the lines from the old filter. No idea why. With the clips all disengaged it took a good half hour of pulling and grunting to get the large side off, tried two different removal tools. Make sure you don't break the clips or anything, that'd be a big hassle to have to replace one the ends of those fuel lines.

go to the parts store and get fuel/ac line removal tools there about $10
