About to bury this thing folks
2002 - build date of 4 01 so its the newer bigger body style
Explorer xlt 4.0
New OEM fuel pump and assy replacement about a year prior at ase shop
The fuel gauge is intermittent stuck on e
I have experience with the anti-slosh on fox body mustangs so I was thinking that right away
You tube it for the explorer and they show the module on the back of the cluster
However this one doesn't have it stuck in the back of the cluster. The back of the cluster is a large piece or black plastic.
So folks where is the anti-slosh module?
I checked the fuse but the rest of the cluster works and the fuel gauge is intermittent
I did the gauge sweep/ reset.

Thanks

Are you getting a P0463 code? These fuel gauges act up on some vehicles, not all. I’ve yet to see anyone fix the issue, even with a new fuel pump assembly. I believe everything is contained in the fuel pump assembly, but don’t quote me on that.

No cel light it does work upon start up
Yes I agree the whole thing is a part of the pump assembly
If I fill the tank it goes to full but stops working right after it uses about a quarter of a tank
I have the original cluster - the speedometer stopped working - I swapped out the whole thing. I'm going to try the original cluster fuel gauge in a few weeks when it warms up.
Thanks again

You folks ain't going to believe this one...
Got a fuel level sender from rock 60 I think went to install and I pulled the fuel pump fuse with it running to relieve the pressure. Went back to turn off the key and the gauge was @ 1/8 tank. Seems about right. Wait a minute the gauge is now working after I pulled the fuel pump fuse? Did the engineering trick and it was showing low to mid 40's I put the fuse back in and started it and gauge was still working. Added 2 gals of gas and the gauge didn't move but the display was now high 40's - low 50's. Went and got an adult beverage and started it back up and now the gauge was up a bit. Is this not the craziest thing ever??? Granted time will tell but WTH???
