Actually you sound right on cue. Your thinking is correct however, you either get rid of it now or make the commitment to keep it and plan on rebuilding it.
I personally like keeping them and rebuilding them, I have spent 6 years building my BII and she just hit 230K miles. I'm just getting started. I tell you, you cant go out and buy a truck like this, ithas to be built and I will put it up against any new truck/SUV on the market any day....
In 6 years I have spent approx $10K building her up, thats about 1/2 of whatI would have paid to buy something new, and new stuff sucks!
I tell you the end result is worth all the work, I have a totally custom truck that will kick the shorts off just about any other small truck/SUV and I can "feel" if one of my wheel bearings comes loose slightly, we have a connection the old girl and I. I have turned every single bolt on the truck andit gives you real confidence in the ability to fix/rebuild anything that could go wrong....
Now to build a 280HP 4.0L.....
