I have a 2003 ford explorer and the front cigarette lighter doesn't work. I checked the fuse on the drivers side and it was fine. And my question is do I remove the fuses underneath the hood the same way as I do the other ones do they just pull out? I am talking about the block looking fuses underneath the hood

They should all just pull out.

According to the shop manuals for the '02, the following fuses are related to the power points & cigar lighter.

In the Central Junction Box, located under the driver side dash:

Fuse #24 is a 15 amp for the Cigar Lighter included with the "Smoker's Package":

In the Battery Junction Box, located under the hood, in front of the battery:

Fuse #9 is a 20 amp Maxi Cartridge Fuse for the Power Point in the front of the console & Fuse #7 is a 20 amp Maxi Cartridge Fuse for the Power Point in the back of the console:

Hope this helps out! :biggthump

No problem. This info is for my '02. Your '03 may be different as far as fuse numbers go. This info is contained in the owner's manual.

If you don't have an owner's manual, Dead Link Removed.

Good luck getting it fixed.

Yeah I believe it is the same. I was just scared about pulling it out because it looked more like a block than a normal fuse.

I've never dealt with them myself. Good luck.

Yep, they just pull out. Kinda hard to tell if they are blown or not. Need to use a flashlight to check. I just swapped another one into the rear one and outlet started working, replaced it and no problem
