Anyone have any comments on these tires ... price is right and the Futura Adventurers I have, although highway, seem okay...?

PepBoys has them pretty darn afforable installed.

I have to admit, I never heard of these futura tires, therefore I can't tell you anything good nor bad about them.

Critical with a lot of Mud Terrain tires is their behavior on road, specially on wet termac; some MTs just become plaine dangerous. Others are so rough that you have your arms felling asleep of the vibrations transmitted through the steering wheel when driving for a longer time. (Michelin XCL for example Therefore, be very careful choosing your MTs, specially when you plan on using them as your every day tires as I do.

My personal preferance are without any doubt the BF Goodrich MT (I'm not working for Goodrich). For an Mud Terrain, they have great road manners, are not too loud nor rough, will last long and look good. They might be a little bit more expensive initially, but absolutely worth the money.

I haven't used this tire before, but do have a friend that had them. he said they are one of the worst tires he has ever had. They lasted like 20,000 miles and did badly rain and mud. Road handling was not that good either. Spend a few more dollars and get BFG, like donkey boy said they do good in everything. Just my .02

I HAVE used these tires, and also my friend. They are a great buy. I went from Dunlop Radial Rovers to Enforcer M/T's and it was so much better. The dakota is a nice tire too.

After todays 4x4ing in mud, I can now vouch for Futura MT's. Excellent tire even in the real gooey stuff. Yes, real gooey stuff. They clean themselves fairly well and they do have grip. I am not going to go into much more detail but all I can say is they are a good tire. One more thing, they were not on my Explorer but a Chevy that helped us out.

what does the tread pattern look like?

The tread looks basically like the BFG mud terrain.
