Hey all! Just wanted to get your opinions on some stuff before she goes back under the knife.

I have in my possession a set of Remington 33x12.5" mud paddles on a set of black rockcrawler 15x10 mods.

IN order to stuff these suckers under my BII I have to get her "prepared" for them. Currently I am running a 5" suspension lift, and no body lift. I;m not gonna do a BL as the BII is tippy enough in those off camber situations (Pucker factor trials).

So we know (from Brett's BII) that 32's will clear on factory rims, just barely. But I plan to make the 33's fit with some cut out flares in the back and Autofab buldged fiberglass up front.

So knowing what the Buschwhaker cutouts look like on a BII (Yikes they stick out like 6"!) I am looking for other options for my rear 1/4 panel to clear the 33x12.50's. I'm not afraid to trim with the sawzall, I just want to cover it up so it looks pretty, and I want some sort of flare to match the front buldged fiberglass.

I have head that some Cherokee flares will fit, anybody seen/done this?

Also I am re-gearing next week. I am going from 3.73 to 4.10's (No you need 4.56 posts please, already set in stone on 4.10's because I will still run 31's daily).
I am installing an ARB in the front D35 third member and planning to rebuild my 8.8 L/S with a few extra clutch's for a tighter lock up. Both axles are getting fresh 4.10's, bearings, and the like. I am however also in the market for a compressor to run my new ARB, any idea's? Quick air II?

Thanks! Photo's will follow when all is said and done....

Oh and who wants to buy some focatory 3.73's? Front is barely used (came from a 92 that was never even in 4x4 from what I could tell) and the rears came from a 97 AWD with approx 60K miles on them. Mobil One synthetic gear lube used since I;ve had the axles....

On mine I just cut out the rear fenders, and plan on adding some tubs. I was not too worried about matching flares, since I am cutting the front fenders as well. You might want to look at JCwhitney however. They offer a few different types of universal flares on a roll, one of which may suit your needs.

One of these days I'll have this one up and running with yours and Bretts. :)

Well you just let us know when you want to actually drop a 4.0 in there, Brett's got a couple spare engine's layin around, I've got a Mazda 5 speed thats 1 year old, and we can piece together the rest, we are professionals :)

Oh and Brett doesnt have a BII anymore, that Silver one went to his brother, he's got bigger and better idea's for his next one....we are looking for a $50 donor BII right now, the goal is to make it into magazines with this buildup....Talk about jumping hte gun! He's already got the D44 cut down and ready to go in and he doesnt even have th truck yet!! Geesh, how are we supossed to keep up?

Why doesnt that thing run right now again? I;ve never met a BII I couldnt get to run....

Why not use some sport rear flares? They don't stick out much but enough to cover the tire. I think mine stick out about 1-2" or so. I cut the rear quarters off so I didn't have to worry about hitting those.

Hey now see thats the kind of response I was looking for....kinda hard to find Sports in the yards, but I think I know where one might be..Denver Ford Parts, and he'll let me test fit I before I buy I bet....

The guy I bought it from said it made a horrible grinding noise before siezing. I tried to jump it just so I could hear the noise myself, but it doesn't turn over or click or anything. A buddy of mine (Kris Guilbeaux) heard it run and says that it is definately FUBARed. Which of course is why I got it for next to nothing. I don't know exactly what is wrong with it, but I believe Kris when he tells me something.

So it's an engine problem? (not tranny)

Let me know, we can drop a 4.0L in there just as easy as another 2.9L (2.8L, whatever year it is) . I picked up my entire 4.0L (everything I needed to drop it in, I even got the bulbs for the headlights included!) for $500 with 37K miles on it. Been in my truck for 2.5 years and runs like a bat out of hell.

If we pull one ourselves from say, a 93-94 Aerostar (they are usually untouched at the junk yards!) I would say you can get it for about the same....

With the wheelwells cut out on mine, I am running 34x9.5 TSLs on the stock rims. To fill in the gap caused by the cutting, I used 3" wide lawn edging in the front...

For the rear, I used two of my son's old bike tire intertubes and rivets...

I know these are not flares, like you were talking about, but I thought it would give you a couple options if you did decide to cut the body for your tires.

OH there is no question she's getting a trim. I may roll the fenders under to make the room and then just herculine. Thanks for the pics!
Eventually I will use fiberglass up front, so the rear 1/4 panels are all that I really care about right now.
