I have Gabriel VSTs and love them. $16 ea at Autozone. Great on and offroad, much better than stock. IMO they approach the onroad ride of the Edelbrocks, and soak up the bumps well offroad too.
i dont know, ive had the VST's on for a couple of months now and they are already wore out. i think they would last longer on a stock height truck, though. (mine is dropped 2")

I second that!! I just had mine put on yesterday, so I don't know how they hold up, but they are MUCH better than the stock ones. I got the Pro Ryder VST's. Happy for the one day of driving with them.
I went with the $24 Monroe shoks from Kragen on my stock 2wd explorer. The ones that the previous owner had installed were KYB Gas-A-Just shocks made in Japan. These are about a $50 shock but who knows when the last owner put them on. They may have 50 to 80K on them right now. The new shocks stiffened my ride so I'm not rolling so much in a turn and has quieted my suspension noise. I have an old set of Monroes that I know to have 100K and they are still working great on my ranger so I'm glad I went with the same shocks. I was told that the only advantage to going with the sensa track was in heavy offroad applications which my 2wd will probably not see. rc
