Gas tank shield

Anyone know if you can get a replacement shield ? Mine is rusty as hell.I could find the straps easy but not the shield so far.

If you don't off-road the shield isn't really necessary.

As far as I know it's separate (never actually seen one though). I believe only the 4WD's had them. It's a skid plate.

On '96 through '00 (Gen 2) the skid plate slides backwards into a slot and bolts to a cross piece at the front. No straps like the gas tank. Junk yard may have a replacement shield. Bring PB Blaster, socket set and hammer. I don't recall which socket worked best, i.e. if it's metric use the english, or visa versa.

When i have my mechanic do the fuel pump i am gonna take the shield home and refinish it.
