Hi, Could anyone tell me if the ODBII port data stream provides an indication of what gear the vehicle is in. This is in a 2000 Explorer 4.0 SOHC with the 5r55e trans.

Thanks for any assistance.

Gary

i don't think so, but i could be wrong.

Yes it does. I have an ELM327 bluetooth reader and Torque installed on my Android tablet and on Ford vehicles it can read the gear and transmission temperature (and many more PID's).

thanks

Thank you very much. I wanted to use Dakota Digital instruments and not the OEM cluster. They have an interface box that plugs into the OBD which makes life a lot easier than doing all the senders on the motor.

Thanks again.

Gary
