Gear setup?

If I'm installing an LSD, but keeping my existing gears (27k on them), do I need to have the gears setup again?

You may. It depends if the LS requires a new carrier or not.

Yes, I'm replacing the carrier. I'm getting an Eaton Posi. I figured that the pinion won't change, and I'll just be putting the ring gear on the new carrier. Bearing caps and everything else should be in good shape. If gears don't need to be setup, then I'll install this myself. Otherwise, I'll have to pay someone.

Sorry to dig this up but did you end up having to reset the gears or not? I want to switch from a LS to an Open so I can put a much cheaper locker in...
