Locker and gear setups q's

I just had my truck regeared to 4.56s, leaving the trak-loc and open front alone because of money. I was thinking if I ever want lockers I can do a no-slip in the rear because it'll install in the LS carrier and won't have to set up the gears again. I was thinking that whenever your remove the carrier requires a gear setup, is this right? I got to thinking about it and thought maybe not. Can the carrier (and ring gear) be removed, swap ring gear to different carriers and put back in? I really don't know much about the gear setups and could probably find the answer, but thought someone would know right off hand. Thanks.

You can remove and re-install the carrrier without having to setup the gears again (If you're careful and pay attention to shim location, etc.), but you can't swap the gear to a new carrier without having to set it up.

You can do a no-slip without having to re-set the gears.
