Interestingly enough, I ordered the dorman 905-104 part from amazon and then realized that there was no dremel tool at my home anymore so I ordered a new one a few hours later, also from amazon. The dorman part got here yesterday but the dremel said that amazon transferred the package to the united states postal service for delivery. Last summer Amazon offered to put a notation on my account to Never Ever deliver by the USPS because in my area they ALWAYS delivery late. 99% of the time, the postal worker notes on their website that they have delivered my packages when I know for a fact they have not, so I always end up calling the USPS customer service number which reports the action to the local office which in turn sends their postal worker out to my house with the package that they said they delivered in the first place. This time things really suck because I started two jobs recently and I need both of them to pay my bills. One is over night work. I could not walk to that job and had no way of getting a ride last night so I had to call out. I only have one call out left before I lose my job and these idiots at amazon, who guaranteed delivery Today, gave it to the USPS who have postponed delivery until Tuesday. I put the partial paycheck that I got from working only a few hours on my first week toward buying this dremel and now I don't have enough money, barely, to buy another dremel locally today. I am not even certain that I can get a ride anywhere to buy one. I am so mad right now. I can't miss out on work again tonight. I called Amazon about their guaranteed delivery and they said that since the package was placed into another company's hands, they cannot force the other company to deliver and that they can give me a refund but it won't be in my account for at least 4 to 6 days.
On a side note, does anyone know of a better video showing how to repair with the dorman 905-104 part than the one on you tube? Everyone that has a video is showing the same Dorman informational video which really doesn't give much detail. In part because the camera is too far away for details (held by a camera man, not the repair person) and, secondly, the repair man is wearing a ball cap that gets between the camera and the repair.
I had thought that I knew where the clip was and what to do based on the forums here but after seeing that video, I find myself confused. They are removing a clip toward the front of the vehicle (I was expecting it to be near the broken piece) and they mention taking out the pin (which I don't see mentioned here, but I can figure that out), and the part where they take the old shifter actually out and put the new one in (after the dorman part is clipped back into the steering column) is covered up by the gent's ball cap.
